And every great story has a few of those, right? What matters now is how you move forward, and trust me, you have so many options.
1. Rewrite Your Exams
If you were close to passing or just struggled with a few subjects, you can rewrite them! The DBE Second Chance Programme is designed to help students improve their marks. You can rewrite up to four subjects and give yourself another shot at success.
2. Repeat Matric
I know, I know—going back to school might not be what you had in mind, but sometimes, a fresh start is what you need. Repeating the year at your school or enrolling in a matric completion centre can help you fully grasp the material and come back stronger.
3. Consider a Bridging Course
If you missed the requirements for your dream course, don’t panic. Many universities and colleges offer bridging programmes that help you qualify for further studies. This is a great way to level up before diving into higher education.
4. Explore Other Career Paths
Not passing matric doesn’t mean you can’t have a successful career. There are TVET colleges and skills-based courses that offer hands-on training in industries like IT, business, and design—no matric needed!
5. Keep Moving Forward
