When you step into a real workplace for the first time, something shifts. It’s not just about the job itself. It’s about understanding how people got there, what they studied, what they struggled with, and what they would do differently.

I’ve realised that exposure gives you something powerful. It gives you context and suddenly, subjects are not just subjects anymore. Maths is not just numbers and English is not just essays. They become tools that people actually use in their jobs every day.

That changes how you show up at school.

I’ve been thinking a lot about asking better questions. Not just “what do you do?” but “how did you get here?” and “what should I focus on now?”

Those questions matter, because the more you understand the journey, the more confident you feel about your own path. You don’t feel as lost, and you start to see that there isn’t just one way to succeed.

For me, it’s also about sharing what I learn. At home, with my friends, even at school. Not everyone gets the same opportunities, so when one of us learns something new, we can pass it on.
