See Youth

Outgrowing things can be awkward—but it’s also totally normal.

Hey YOUTH’STERS—Amy here! Let’s talk about something that no one really warns you about… how weird it feels when you start outgrowing people, habits, or even the things you once loved. Like, why does your childhood bestie suddenly feel like a stranger? Or that hobby you used to be obsessed with now just… doesn’t hit the same?

Here’s the thing: you’re not being fake or flaky. You’re growing. And growth requires letting go of what doesn’t fit anymore.

  1. Friendships that no longer align? That’s okay.

Maybe you’re into journaling and healing, and they’re still into gossip and chaos. You don’t need to cut people off dramatically, but it’s okay to stop giving energy to things (and people) that leave you drained. You deserve friends who clap when you win.

  1. Hobbies can change, and that’s normal.

You don’t have to stick to something forever just because you started it in Grade 8. Outgrew your slime biz? Bored of dance class? Cool. Try something new. Who knows—you might be secretly amazing at photography, coding, or cooking.

  1. Ditch the habits that hold you back.

Whether it’s procrastinating, doom scrolling, comparing yourself to people online, or saying “yes” when you mean “no”—you can outgrow those too. Self-awareness is your superpower.

  1. Your old self doesn’t define your future.

You’re allowed to change your mind. You’re allowed to level up. You’re allowed to become someone your younger self would look at and say: “Woah, she’s actually thriving.”

Growing out of things doesn’t mean something went wrong; it means something went right. It means you’re learning who you are and what actually serves your peace, your joy, your goals.

So if things feel weird lately, take a breath. You’re not breaking down. You’re breaking through.✨
