Learn and Grow

Learning and growing is a life journey. Just when you think you’ve learnt enough, life throws you new lessons — and that’s the magic of it. See, developing yourself is more than just knowing yourself. It’s about pushing the boundaries, exploring your skills and personality, and unlocking your full potential — sometimes with things you never considered doing. The question is, how do you get there? Well, there are many ways.

Think about your likes and dislikes, your passions, and the things you enjoy learning about; and ask yourself: what would I like to learn more of? A few great ways of doing this are through:

  • Knowledge sharing groups
  • Workshops
  • Webinars

By participating in activities and workshops tailored to your interests, you gain valuable insights and experiences that can help push you forward in your area of interest. Let’s dig a little deeper and see why these activities are so great for investing in yourself personally and professionally.

Knowledge sharing

Knowledge sharing is when like-minded people meet to exchange knowledge or information, create new ideas, share thoughts and opinions, and more. Knowledge sharing could be on any topic, like academics, art, sport or technology. Really, it could be about anything you’re interested in and have a passion for. If it’s music you’re into, a jam sesh and discussion with some skilled artists is knowledge sharing too.

Workshops

Workshops are generally led by experts, and include engaging activities, learning materials and the ability to ask questions. For example, attending a workshop on entrepreneurship can help you acquire the skills to turn your innovative ideas into reality. Explore workshops in your community or learning centre.

Webinars

Webinars are online lessons and learning sessions. For example, picture yourself in a webinar led by industry experts, where you learn about emerging technologies and their impact on various fields. Would that interest you? These could be opportunities to open doors to new knowledge, ignite your curiosity, and empower you to stand out in a rapidly changing world. Google’s Digital Garage is an excellent way to access free webinars on everything from social media and digital skills to marketing and coding. There’s also free certified online courses available. Invest in yourself

Investing in yourself is not just about acquiring knowledge; it’s also about sharing and collaborating. Engaging in group activities, such as team-building exercises or community projects, allows you to develop essential social and communication skills.

Seek out opportunities that align with your interests and goals, whether it’s joining a book club, attending a language exchange program, or participating in volunteer work. Each experience will broaden your horizons, challenge your assumptions, and contribute to your personal development. Engage in activities that stretch your limits, and surround yourself with like-minded individuals who inspire you.

The possibilities are endless, and your journey has just begun.
